Professional Development

Josh Lipson is deeply committed to his craft and actively participates in the financial services industry. He is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, a venerable non-profit organization dedicated to assisting its members in helping individuals, families, and businesses achieve financial security.

Josh’s contributions to the industry include speaking engagements at the Society’s annual Clinic for Financial Professionals and published articles in the Journal of Financial Service Professionals. He has also served on the Society’s Insurance Engagement and Understanding Initiative, a sub-committee committed to developing guidelines for financial professionals to serve their clients’ best interests with the utmost moral and ethical standards.

Community Involvement

Beyond his financial endeavors, Josh is passionate about giving back to the community. He has served as a board member of the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education, an organization dedicated to reducing cancer rates through lifestyle and environmental choices. His commitment extends to other non-profit work, including the American Heart Society, Operation Yellow Ribbon, and various charitable initiatives.

Our Origin Story

Josh Lipson, President of Lipson Financial Group, is the driving force behind our firm. He takes immense pride in developing long-term relationships with clients and providing ongoing support as their financial needs evolve. Josh’s primary goal is to help clients protect and grow their wealth by remaining laser-focused on their unique situations and assembling a dedicated team to support them.

Josh’s journey in the financial services industry began in 2001 as a finance and lending professional. In 2008, his focus shifted to risk and wealth management. In 2011, he joined Karr Barth Associates and later founded Lipson Financial Group in 2015 as an independent financial services firm.

The roots of Lipson Financial Group trace back to 1972 when Marshall Lipson, Josh’s father, entered the insurance industry. Several years later, Marshall established the financial services firm, Lipson Silverman Associates, Inc.

In 1986, Marshall joined the Society of Financial Service Professionals When he retired in 2016 as Managing Director of Professional Development and was considered one of the premier educators in the industry 

As Managing Director he was responsible for providing ongoing education for the Society’s 12,000+ members. Marshall oversaw the production of the Society’s live satellite and internet-delivered video conferences, webinars, live seminars, podcasts, webcasts, the Society’s annual “Clinic for Advanced Professionals,” State Continuing Education accreditation procedures.

Marshall is enjoying retirement with his wife Denise. They have two children, three granddaughters and a grandson. Marshall enjoys wine, traveling, and spending time with his family.     

His legacy continues through his son Josh’s dedication to the industry.
